State of the art equipment and facilities The Golf Academy has a floodlit dual-level
driving range where you can choose to practice
either from a state of the art Astroturf mat or
from natural turf. The highly popular mats have been imported from
Fiberbuilt, a Canadian based company, which supplies mats to some of the best facilities in the world. The facility includes four
target greens, a pitching area, a chipping green
with a practice bunker and a large sized putting
green. The entire concept is that of creating a
practice facility that gives the golfer an
opportunity to practice any kind of shot that he
may encounter on the course.
The Academy is well equipped to conduct Video
Analysis of the golf swing on the
internationally acclaimed V1 Pro Software. This
is done by recording the swing on super slow
motion cameras and then analyzing the swing on
the laptop loaded with the software. This
practice is consistent with the methods used in
the top Academies all over the world. The Academy recently imported the latest in Putting teaching technology, the SAM Putt Lab. With the use of this technology, our instructors are able to break down the minutest of problems in Putting and analyse Putting data provided by the software.
The other facilities at the Academy include a
video room for the analysis and classroom
lectures, a video and book library, and ball
collecting and dispensing machines and the Explanar system, used by beginners to understand the plane of the golf swing. Among all
these facilities, there is also a splendid
coffee shop in a separate and exclusive Academy
clubhouse.
PGA Level golf instruction
At the DLF Golf Academy, you will find that our
professionals are committed to providing the
highest quality golf instruction possible.
All the professionals are certified under the
National Golf Academy of India certification program (NGAI). The Academy
offers in all eight instructors, and every
professional brings in a unique experience in
conducting a variety of programs. At the Academy
you will find programs suited to your needs,
individual and group. Our instructors recognize
that every golfer has unique, individual
ability; so they work at enhancing your
strengths and overcoming your weaknesses through
sound fundamentals. All programs are devised by
Karan Bindra, the Director of Instruction and
every student is monitored by the senior
instructors of the Academy.
Faces at the Academy
Karan Bindra: is a NGAI certified ‘A’
Professional and is the Director of Instruction
and partner of the DLF Golf Academy. He is also
a staff member of the National Golf Academy of India. He has been a professional for more
than 12 years and during this time he has played
on the Indian tour, apart from focusing on his
various teaching assignments. He is based out of
DLF Golf Academy for the last ten years, where
he conducts golf schools for all ages in
abilities. Amongst his students are some top
ranked juniors in the country. Apart from
learning golf teaching techniques at the David
Leadbetter Golf Academy, Karan has also spent
valuable time with the likes of Gary Groff
(USA), Kel Llewellyn (Australia) and the PGA
Teaching System (UK); besides Dr. Donato Di
Ponziano (PGA of Europe/NGAI). He has also
received a certification under the R&A Rules
School, to become a referee; and he has been
certified for Advanced Training on the V1 Pro
Software. When not teaching, he competes on the
PGAI Tour.
Anitya Chand: is also a NGAI certified ‘A’
teaching professional and is the Head
Professional at the DLF Golf Academy. He is also a staff member of the National Academy of India. He has
been a former India No. 1 Amateur golfer and has
represented India in a host of international
tournaments including the Asian Games and the
Nomura Cup. He has also been a multiple winner
of National tournaments, including the Northern
India Amateur. As a teacher, Anitya has been
trained at the David Leadbetter Golf Academy in
Singapore as well as in Orlando, Florida. He is
also a certified rules referee by the R & A
Rules School. He is a full time coach based at
the DLF Golf Academy, where he teaches golfers
of all ages and abilities, including
professionals, amateurs and some of the top
ranked juniors in the country.
Mohd Yamin: has been teaching golf since
the last twenty years, Yamin has some very
promising juniors amongst his students. He is
designated as Senior Professional and is
instrumental in enhancing golfing skills of
golfers of all levels. In his free time, he
competes on the Professional Golf Tour of India.
Manohar Lal: is designated as an Asst.
Professional. Along with Yamin, he shares the
task of starting beginners / improving abilities
of players at various levels at the Academy. He
has been teaching golf for the last twelve
years.
Akhil Nayar: is designated as a Senior Professional, and is
coaching students across all levels, from
beginners to intermediate players, and gold
division juniors. He also instructs and manages
corporate clinics and junior camps. He is an
NGAI certified teaching professional.
Deepinder Kullar: is also designated as an Asst. Professional, and has a focus on the Junior Program. He has
amongst his students, many juniors from 5 to 18
years of age.
Raju James Joseph: is designated as an
Asst. Professional and has been playing competitive golf
for the last fifteen years. He now spends most
of his time teaching in the Junior Program of
the Academy. Many of his lessons are on-course,
in which he also takes first timers and plays
with them, helping them understand the various
nuances of the game. He is a regular on the PGTI.
Kaka Kohli: is designated
as an Asst. Professional and also a skilled player himself, he is
a popular amongst the many juniors he teaches.
He shares the same responsibilities as Raju,
from teaching in the Junior Program and taking
on-course lessons. He too, competes on the PGTI
Tour in his free time.
Mani Bhushan: is designated
as an Asst. Professional and also a skilled player himself, he is
a popular amongst the many juniors he teaches. He
also assists Anitya in junior programs.
Brand Ambassadors: Jyoti Randhawa, Amritinder
Singh and Digvijay Singh.
Special Clinic/Camps
At the DLF Golf Academy, we believe that golf
must go beyond its present concentration on the
individual and eventually involve the entire
family. The Academy will, therefore, be
conducting a series of clinics and camps at
regular intervals, especially devised for
juniors and ladies. There are also programs and
lessons available on demand for weekend, regular
and advanced golfers.
Academy Coffee Shop
In the middle of a strenuous practice session,
or during a round of golf, the Academy Café is
the best place to grab a quick bite. It is open
for all operational hours of the Academy. The
menu offers variety with burgers, hot dogs and
sandwiches, apart from an American breakfast.
The Café also offers a special lunch menu on
weekends.
