The dramatic Aravali range forms a
magnificent backdrop for the stretches of lush
turf and rolling fairways that make up the
18-hole Championship Course. Meticulously
manicured greens and fairways compliment the
flowers and streams that meander through this
quiet paradise, sheltered by thousands of trees
from the bustle of the outside world. Water is
in spectacular abundance - be it in the form of
a delightfully cascading waterfall on the 17th
or the five lakes that add serenity all their
own to the natural beauty of the course.
The golf course has been constructed to
United States Golf Association (U.S.G.A.)
standards, the main areas for these standards
being the greens and tee complex, bunker
construction practices and procedures - sand
types, shape and porosity, drainage and
irrigation system.
It is a Course in golf's highest tradition -
because that is the way the legendary King of
Golf, Arnold Palmer has designed it "I try to
give the player a course where good shots are
rewarded. The course reproaches you for the bad
shots……you just try harder”. The Arnold Palmer
signature is about beauty, and aesthetics. It
allows you to set your own goals. The greatness
of the course is Palmer's understanding of the
technique in playing and the player's navigation
through the game and Course. You can enjoy the
game at various levels, be it a championship, or
as a stress reliever.
Everywhere on the 7204 yard Course, the
landscaping is in harmony with the five tees on
every hole, the rolling fairways and greens, the
roughs and sand traps and the five lakes. The
DLF club has plenty of greenery based on the
manicured garden concept. Approximately 25
varieties, procured from all over India, have
been used and over 14,000 trees have been
planted. Another feature of the golf course is
the man-made lakes which are inter-connected by
underground pipes and streams. Every winter, the
Course also has more than 35 varieties of winter
annuals (flowers) Also, there are more than 60
varieties of birds in the Golf Course. This
number is increasing year by year.
And, all of this makes it exciting for both the
weekend golfer and the pro.
